Supporting Those Who Are Caring For Us

We want to show our support and appreciation to those who are ‘heroes’ to us during this unique period — Teachers and Medical Professionals.

Over the past few weeks, we have seen our everyday lives pivot in a new direction. Businesses have gone almost entirely remote, restaurants are only offering delivery or take out, and telemedicine has taken on a new life. Our entire way of life has shifted, and the ‘heroes’ are shining through.

Education has been a remote and ‘normal’ practice over the past decade. Digital learning has led to many online degree programs and offerings for colleges and universities. With the onset of COVID-19, this practice leaped into the traditional K-12 learning arena. Traditional teachers began to plan and try new ways of teaching their students to give them a sense of normalcy and without putting their education on pause.

Our medical community has not ceased to amaze me. Doctors and nurses are flocking from all over the country to high-risk areas to care for those at the scariest points in their lives. And risking their safety. I am no stranger to the risks of medical staff. My mom and sister are both nurses, and my good friend and mother in law are Nurse Anesthetists. Self-sacrifice is what blows me away — sleeping in hotels and their garages for weeks to keep their families safe and still going the extra mile for their patients.

As a remote company that is not equipped to make masks or care for patients, we wanted to give something back to those who need more taken off of their plates. Teachers and those in the medical community have been stripped of time with their families, and we want to give some back to them. It is a small token of our unmeasurable gratitude.

Teachers and medical professionals are eligible to receive 5 hours of monthly support from Squared Away. This 5-hour block can be in any capacity needed from supporting their families to assisting with professional tasks. There is no limit. If you are interested in sharing the gift of time with someone, you have that option as well. Our team is very grateful for all you have done, and we’re looking forward to taking care of you now.
