Muggly the teddy bear

The Rogers family rented a two story beach house for their vacation. Mom & Dad, 5 yr old Kathy, 10 yr old Christy & 12 yr old Jimmy climbed in their Suburu Hatchback , ready for an adventure at the beach. The children settled in in the upstairs bedroom. Kathy, the adventurous one, happened upon a door unwittingly & soon realized the door led to the attic! Kathy clmbed up the stairs eager to seek what treasures she would find. She looked around the room , & spied a “beat up teddy bear” on top of a bookcase. The poor teddy bear showed signs of yrs of mistreatment due to birds tearing out the stuffing for making their nests!

Kathy grabbed the teddy bear with enthusiasm. She was proud of her bear, so she showed it to 12 yr old Jimmy, who teased her about having anything to do with it. That bear is nasty, it’s all beat up & its an ugly bear, 5 yr old Kathy’s answer was “ it may be ugly, “ but “ its “ my ugly bear “ ! That’s how Muggly got it’s name ! She then showed Muggly to her sister 10yr old Christy, now Christy proceeded to tell her little sister, “ that’s not a good find, take it back”! Kathy loved Muggly & kept it close to her!

Before long, both sisters sauntered off to the beach! Christy was looking down in the sand & found something shiny , she decided to pick it up, she showed Kathy what she found “ look Kathy , I found this gold necklace “. With a closer look she realized the necklace was a chain with a heart on it ! Christy wanted Kathy to be jealous of her find, after all it was much better find than poor ugly Muggly!!

Poor Muggly sorely needed repair! Kathy’s Mom volunteered to repair Muggly! That’ s what she did & , Muggly became a proper teddy bear for Kathy to play with!

They spent two weeks in their two story beach house ! Kathy hugged her Muggly playing with him all along their stay ! The beach was fun for the whole Rogers family!

As they were packing up, getting ready to leave, Mom told Kathy she would have leave Muggly behind, since someone had left it behind & someone else may come & might want to play with Muggly !! Kathy took him back upstairs to the attic, placing it on the top shelf where she found him !

All the suitcases placed neatly in the car, they were driving away. The children in the back seat turned around, looking toward their beach house. The sun was shining in a window in the attic , the children saw Muggly with the gold necklace around his neck. Christy showed her love to Kathy & Muggly too!
