You Should Always Give It A Try

Gerd Altmann

When I was in high school a teacher approached me and told me if want to be a candidate for the I position of president for the upcoming student council election. I was a weird kid with low self-esteem. I don’t know why I accepted it right away. I think it’s my intuition telling that it will change my life.

It doesn’t matter if I won or not what’s important is I learned one of the best lessons that I will forever treasure…

I learned to talk in front of a thousand people. I learned to lead my schoolmates. I learned to work hard. I learned to be patience. I learned to grab every opportunity that’s in front of me and most of all I learned to become a better person.

I know many of us are scared to face our own fears. There is so much opportunity in front of us that we’re all afraid to step into.

It’s a matter of taking risks. Whatever the outcome, what’s important is we learned something.

It’s an endless cycle of taking risks, failing, learning and trying again. We’re human and that’s life.

Scared of speaking in front of many people? Go make your own YouTube channel. Scared of traveling alone? Go explore the world. Take that licensure exam. Write that novel. Apply for that dream job. Do anything that makes your heart flutter.

Do it! Give it a try!

Believe me, you won’t regret any second of it. At the end of the day you can tell yourself. “At least I gave it a try.”
