A Day of Waterfalls and Geysers and Natural Beauty

Touring Iceland’s “Golden Circle”

Despite feeling full of energy after the soak in the thermal pool, I woke up feeling yuck. As you’d expect, this was the best breakfast buffet yet, but I dared not risk it. I did have a cup of tea and some scrambled eggs though. My daughter Stacey had freshly made waffles! I dined on the aromas.

Next stop was another waterfall (Seljalandsfoss), where in summer you can walk in behind the veil of water, though it was not recommended in the freezing temperatures of which we were travelling. It was about the same height as Skógafoss, but was split in two.

It was the most spectacular in my opinion, being made up of several waterfalls cascading down, dramatically displaying the force and beauty of nature. The spray from the falls was freezing on the nearby rocks, which also made the scene…
